Loving Someone

1. If it were up to you to make the decision, would you let the sweatshop workers become legal U.S. citizens? Why or why not?

Yes because they work really hard to be in the state also they work hard to make clothes in the state and for the stores. They should become permanet there. They belong there.

2. Describe a moment in from parts 1, 2, or 3 of this movie that you found particularly memorable? Why?

In the first part i remeber is when they were talking about that their first job was sewing because that was the first job that popped up that you wouldn't need any papers. The second part that i remeber is when they started to protest and start making signs and walking in the streets to show people what they are going threw. The third part is that they continue to protest and then they started to quit because no one was listening and not caring.

3. By the end of part 3, the protestors seem to be giving up hope. If you were able to speak to the group, what would you say to them to inspire them to keep going?

I would tell them not to give up. That if you would give up all your things you have been saying won't matter anymore and you would just throw it all away. That you should never give up your hopes to anything. We have been doing this for 3 years now and we are not going to give up. We work to hard to be paid the amount we get now. We are not giving up because some little things that happen to us. We are going to continue until we are served with respect from people who wear our work and who sell them to. Never give up on those you believe in.

1. Who does Forever 21 blame for the sweatshops? Why?

I would blame Mr.Lahana because he was the one you paid the contractor $10.

2. What’s wrong with Forever 21′s argument?

The problem is that they aren't making enough money.

3. Why do the workers continue to protest even if it means they might lose their jobs?

Because they know they are not making a lot of money and they know it's not fair.

1. How is the life of sweatshop workers in L.A. the same as those in Indonesia? How is it different?

The way it is the same in Indonesia is that they both work more hours and make less amount of money. Also they both suffer from the jobs that they have.Also they are not able to spend time with their kids or family as much as they are supposed to do. The difference they have is that in L.A you have a house of your own and in Indonesia you have to share with other people.

2. Why is it that poor immigrants (newcomers) end up working at sweatshops? Why don’t they work as lawyers or doctors or at Mcdonalds? They don't have enough to be there or they don't have the right education to afford it.

3. Predict what’s going to happen by the end of this movie

Probably they are going to make a parade saying that we deserve better and need to pay a better amount and go into debate with them.

1. How much do Nike workers make in Indonesia each day? How many hours a day do they work?

I think they make $1.25 each day and they work 15 hours a day.

2. What is life like for Indonesian Nike workers at home?

It's hard long and it's complicated for then to live a lifestyle like that. Not being able to see your kids it's sad to see how they live. They live in little places sharing it with other families. Their bath is outside. They have to share with 10 other different families. I mean it's nasty to have to share with other people and not have your own privacy.

3. Why won’t Nike talk to Jim or Leslie or let them visit the shoe factory?

They won't let them in or talk because the headquarters think that they are trying to get a way in to do something bad to their company.

WHY I LOVE FALL

Yesterday Susana and I went for a awesome fall walk. It was getting colder, so we had to put on our woolly Skinny Jeans and sweaters.

Halfway down the block, we saw the Sanchez family out in their yard. The Sanchez children were raking big piles of School and leaping into them. Mrs. Sanchez was planting balloons bulbs so she would have beautiful balloons flowers in the spring.

“Fall is in the air,” Susana said. “Soon the days will be getting more Crazy.”

We walked down Ponce De Leon Street admiring the Blue and Orange leaves. Overhead, Chips were flying south for the winter. Two Puppy scampered by, hiding acorns in a tree for the winter.

“That makes me hungry,” said Susana. “Maybe we should go pick some nice round red Sarai and bake them in a pie.”

“I AM SO HAPPY!” I said. “That sounds Awesome.”

Fighting On Myspace

I was watching this video and its about these High School girls fighting about what they wrote on myspace to each other. What I notice was that on myspace you act different then you do in person because when you are on myspace you are writing it to each other but when you are up to each others face because you are telling it to them which starts drama and when you are on the computer you act more calmer then you do in person. So I learned a different way people act on computer then to each other.So I know that people are different in other places then they are in person. So it's a total difference.

I'm at home. No school for 3 days. I am mad now because i'm bored at home and there's nothing to do. All there is to do is to use the computer and watch t.v all day.
